Card Patterns Sketch 69

In between laundry and cleaning and kids I managed to make a card today! My Papertrey Ink order arrived this morning, and I've been dying to use the gorgeous rose from the new Year of the Flower set. I saw this sketch on Card Patterns blog and thought it would be perfect to showcase the rose!

I also received the new Library Ledger paper in my order, and it's so beautiful, I needed to use it on this card! I paper pieced the rose (many layers of paper piecing!), and used my new PTI Tea Dye Duo ink to give the card more of a vintage feel. The new pads were very very juicy, don't know if they're supposed to be like that, but the ink went on a bit more heavily than I would have liked. I'm still happy though with the way this card turned out :)

Here's a side view, you can get a better idea from this photo how the rose is layered.

I LOVE this new stamp set, and I'm happy it contained a wedding sentiment because I need to make several cards for upcoming weddings I'll be attending.

Stamps: PTI Year of the Flower: Roses
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream and Aqua Mist card stock, PTI Library Ledger
Ink: PTI black, Tea Dye Duo
Ribbon:
Misc: Spellbinder fancy label die

  26. Oh Diane, be still my heart. Look at all the amazing layers on the rose! Incredible! And the BG is so cool with the mix of PP. I've been through 3 sets of tea dye duos already, and I have to admit that I like them better when they aren't so new, and full of ink!
