This past weekend I attended a get together near Washington, DC, where I got to meet some Papertrey Ink forum friends! While there I was able to cut some dies that I don't own, including this circle tag from PTI. Also while there, our gracious hostess Deb let me try some of her Impression Obsession background stamps (that's the red gingham paper you see here). I LOVED these large stamps and plan on buying some soon!

If you look on the left side of the circle tag, you'll notice a ruffled doily. I made this using the Parisian Doily die from PTI and a thin brown paper bag! The bag is thin enough that you can easily ruffle it just by "scrunching" or "pleating" it, and taping it down onto whatever card stock shape you like. I used a doily cut in half, but you could use a whole doily cut just to the center for a much fuller ruffle. I really love how this turned out and plan to do it again!
The patterned floral paper is from Daisy D, and the bottom edge of my card is cut with the PTI medium scallop border die.

Hope you're enjoying your day. We're looking forward to some beautiful, spring like weather for the next few days here in PA; I'm so happy about that :)

This has such a sweet, homespun look! Love the paper bag doily, especially with that crumpled look it gives it a vintage flair. Such a fun card!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous gorgeus card, Diane! I love both the gingham and the pattern paper at the background. They are beautiful. Great idea of using the circle tag. Lots oflovely details too. Love the shabby style on the card too. Great card on the whole and great work as always :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful details! Love how these elements work so well together.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't you know I just bought PTI's gingham set, the gingham set you used is really, really great. I love the scale of it. I don't have that tag either, but now I have to re-think it. This entire card is perfect, love the stitching on it.
ReplyDeleteOh Diane, there are so many fun little details on this card. I can't stop looking. The crumpled paperbag doily is pure genius, but I've come to expect that from you...clever woman that you are! The stitching really pulls the whole shebang together, but my absolute favorite part is the tiny fussy cut leaf sprig in the lower corner...darling!
ReplyDeleteYou're so resourceful to use a paper bag and have it look lovely on your card! This is so detailed and simply amazing!
