Last weekend my mom and sister and I were at the farmer's market and I saw a cage with lop eared bunnies huddled together in a corner. They were so adorable, I couldn't resist buying one. I told myself I was buying it for my daughter, but my mom and sister insisted I was really buying it for me ;)
On the day I bought him, my daughter was in school. When she arrived home I sat her down, and said "honey, do you think you have room in your heart to welcome a new member to our family?", and she said with alarm "did Steve DIE?" (Steve is her hamster lol!) My mom and sister and I cracked up when she said that lol. I assured her that Steve was alive and well, but there was a new pet waiting on the back porch. She went outside and was thrilled and delighted when she saw the bunny! She decided he should be named Peter (the man we bought him from assured us it's a boy). Peter is very gentle and sweet, and we're delighted to have him with us :)
I want to wish all of my blog readers a very HAPPY EASTER! When I woke up this morning the sun was shining and I was overwhelmed with the knowledge that HE IS RISEN! This is such a joyous occasion to me, to know that Christ conquered the grave, and gave us the precious gift of eternal life! I'm incredibly thankful for that! May your family enjoyed a blessed and joyous day!

Peter is precious! :)
ReplyDeleteMy kiddies are not allowed to read this post...
EVER...
they've been asking for a bunny!
And even though my heart breaks at how utterly adorable he is...
I have to say "no".
But what a great Mommy you are! :)
Happy Easter!
I have fond memories of "Buster", the sweet bunny we used to have that was more mine, than my kids. He was litter-box trained and so sweet. I am sure Peter will be the same for you. I expect some cute bunny cards on your blog in the future!
ReplyDeleteI am with Renee...Peter is adorable but my boys are not allowed to read this post! Have a wonderful Easter Diane!
ReplyDeleteDiane, he is SO adorable! You have reminded me of our Netherland Dwarf, Poppy. Hubby bought her for me when we had to live in an apartment. Of course, we then found out that rabbits weren't allowed either! I would never have gotten rid of her so I hid her in a closet whenever any apartment personnel came to check on something. Rabbits have the advantage of being very quiet! Our friends always were amused because she went with us when we traveled. We always arrived with Poppy in her little cage!!
ReplyDeleteWishing a wonderful and happy Easter to you and your family!
Happy Easter, Diane! So glad that you have a new furry friend! We have had lots of Peter's over the years. Your post is beautiful. Happy Easter to you as well!

A very 'bunny' story. He's so cute and what a lovely Easter present.
ReplyDeleteOh Diane, he is SOoooooooo CUTE!!! Children need pets to take care of and bond with. I truly believe they become well adjusted adults if they're taught to care for animals when they're young! And if you bought the rabbit for yourself, so what? You'll share, right? :) Have fun with Peter, and have a great week ahead!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous LARGE photo Diane! *wink*
ReplyDeletePeter looks sweet, and bunnies are uber easy to litter-box train. CUTE!
Ooooohhhh he is sooooo adorable!!! I could just squeeze him to pieces, Diane! I am jealous. I used to have a bunny named Mr. Bunny. I loved him so much. You are going to love having him. I think you should submit his photo to Cute Overload too. :)
